Frequently asked questions
How many children are enrolled each day?
Up to 30 children.
What is the child to staff ratio for supervision?
Do I need to print out my ticket to bring in on the day?
No, we have a record of your enrolment. On arrival you will be required to sign your child in and sign them out again at pick up.
My child gets nervous when I'm not with them. Can I stay with them during the program?
No sorry, no mums and dads are allowed. There are a number of reasons for this, namely we like to be in control of what adults we have engaging with the children in our care. There are other reasons which we are happy to discuss but the answer is still no haha.
Can I drop my child off before the start time of 9am &/ pick them up later than 3pm?
Kids Nature Club cannot provide before or after care. Doors open at 8.45am and pick up is from 2.45-3pm.
Where is Nature Detectives held?
We hold our Nature Detectives school holiday program at a number of locations. The most common being Gwelup & Perry Lakes. Kids Nature Club hire local scout halls for our private use so children have a safe place to leave their belongings and have access to private toilet and change room facilities. We spend the majority of the day outdoors in nature.
What should I do if my child wakes up sick on the day they are enrolled?
If your child is sick or there is a family emergency let us know as soon as you can. We understand that life happens. If you are able to provide 24hrs notice we will send you a gift voucher of equal value that you can use for any of our future events, including the holiday program.
I have already booked my child in but now I need to change the day. Is this possible?
Yes, as long as there are still spaces available we can transfer your booking to a different day. Just send us an email.
Can I claim the child care rebate?
Sorry no. As we spend the day climbing trees and exploring nature we dont fit the criteria for the child care rebate.
If it's raining will the program still run?
Yes! Kids Nature Club operates in nearly all weather. We love playing in the rain! We will only cancel our program if the termperature is forecast to be 39C + or if there are severe storms forecast.
Do your staff have working with children checks?
Yes all of our staff have working with children cards and full police clearances. There will also always be a staff member on duty with full first aid qualifications
Are there restrictions on what I can pack for my childs morning tea and lunch?
There are no restrictions on what you can pack for your child to eat. We do encourage healthy eating and minimal single use plastics. To protect children with allergies we have a 'no food sharing' policy.
